2011... Resolution Revelation

It seems shocking how quickly this year has gone by!  However, its quite exciting to have this new year ahead of us.  This clean slate to start a new is something I always look forward to!  The mere thought that summer maybe approaching gets my heart racing.  So as they say, out with the old and in with the new ... and all that crap.

Honestly though, I believe that the New Years Resolution curse must be stopped!  This year I truly want to achieve these goals. And although I know the idea of loathing the resolution is no new concept.  I still believe in the idea behind our resolutions.  There is nothing wrong with wanting to improve yourself.  Making yourself a better person can start at anytime, but why not start the year off right.  So this year I want to find a better me.  Goal number one: I want to volunteer and give to the community.  I'm unsure on the exact details just yet, but whether it be a soup kitchen or an animal shelter, I want to feel like I can think about the world outside of my own.

Secondly, I want to get back into shape.  Okay, okay... yes this is a cliche.  And I know I am not fat... at all.  BUT I do want to feel energized and toned.  So I have roped in my girlfriends to help me.  We are taking the next few months to challenge each other to bring our bodies back into shape.  My goal is to not actually loath the idea of playing soccer again this summer (we all play on a co-ed league) And although I love playing soccer, the mere thought of running for an hour straight, is making my stomach turn.  So the goal is to get my cardio up... and if my butt gets a little perkier in the process, all the more reason to stick with it!

All in all, I believe we should make our resolutions (even if they seem big and daunting) and just go for it.  The worst that will happen is you give up or it doesn't work, but at least you will have to satisfaction of trying.
